Biography
Professor Clarke is Professor of Astronomy at the University of Cambridge. In 2017 she became the first woman to be awarded the Eddington Medal, awarded by the Royal Astronomical Society for investigations of outstanding merit in theoretical astrophysics. In 2022 she became the first female director of the Institute of Astronomy, Cambridge.
